Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State, has stated that if he is re-elected in 2023, his priority will be to transition the state from rapid development to sustainable growth.

The governor explained this at the weekend when he showed members of the Nigerian Guild of Editors some of his administration’s most notable projects. He said this vision is what drives Omituntun 2.0.

He pointed out that the government has concentrated on implementing policies and initiatives over the previous three years that have helped elevate people out of poverty and into wealth as well as repositioning the state.

Makinde took the Guild of Editors on a tour to inspect various infrastructures in the state in different sectors ranging from schools, healthcare facilities, the road that leads to the airport, and the airport itself.

Also, he described how his government reduced infrastructure expenditures through his Alternative Project Funding Approach.

Makinde is the current governor of Oyo State and a businessman. He assumed office on the 29th of May, 2019 and he is about to re-contest for a second term.
