Hushpuppi’s sentencing rescheduled to November 7th


Ramon Abbas, alias Hushpuppi, the troubled cyber thug, has once again had his sentencing postponed by the United States District Court for the Central District of California. 

The trial judge, Otis Wright, announced that Mr. Abbas, 39, will now be sentenced on Monday, November 7, 2022. The 39-year-old had been scheduled to be sentenced on Monday, October 3, after entering a guilty plea to multimillion-dollar fraud charges. 

The court reportedly declared: “COUNSEL ARE NOTIFIED, the Sentencing is CONTINUED to November 7, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. pertaining to Defendant Ramon Olorunwa Abbas.” Premium Times stated.

Judge Wright initially shifted the sentencing hearing from February 14 to July 11 before moving it to September 21 and now November 7.

Along with 12 other people, Hushpuppi was detained in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), in June 2020 on suspicion of hacking, impersonation, scamming, financial fraud, and identity theft. He was later extradited to the US for trial.
