In preparation for the Qatar World Cup, Portugal beat Nigeria 4-0 in a friendly last night at Estadio Jose Alvalade in Lisbon, Portugal.

Bruno Fernandes of Manchester United scored twice in the first half and another two goals in the second half from Ramos Goncalo and Joao Mario saw the scoreline rise to 4-0.

Nigeria got a penalty after Osayi-Samuel was hacked down in the Portugese penalty area. Emmanuel Dennis missed as his shot was saved by the Portugal keeper, Rui Patricio.

This was a very bad outing for Nigeria and pundits are beginning to sound the alarm bells about the current form of the Super Eagles.

Although it is a friendly game, and players are taking it easy to avoid injuries before the world cup, there are still pertinent questions to be asked about the poor performance of the Super Eagles.

Is it the players or do we have poor coaching tactics?
Questions begging for answers.
