Police arrests individuals for selling new naira bills.

14 people, including a woman, have been detained by representatives of the Department of State Services, the Central Bank of Nigeria, and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps in connection with the alleged illicit sale of fresh naira notes in Kano. 

When the suspects were paraded at the NSCDC State Headquarters in Kano on Tuesday night, Adamu Zakari, the State Commandant of the NSCDC, revealed this. 

In an effort to stop the unlawful act that violated the CBN Act, he claimed the suspects were captured during a combined operation in the city.

He recorded the suspects as: Alhaji Ubandi Hotoro,82, Haruna Yahaya, 42, Rabiu Ibrahim, 34, Ismaila Umar, 20, and Nura Aminu, 45, Nasiru Adamu, 40 and Nazef Lawal, 20.

The rest were Sulaiman Tijjani, 35, Mustapha Haruna, 47, Aminu Jibril, 23, Lawal Ibrahim, 40, Abubakar Jibril, 45, Abdullahi Hassan, 30 and Fatima Ibrahim, 30.

He said the NSCDC, the DSS, and the CBN would proceed to clasp down on the culprits of the unlawful demonstration which was a culpable offense under the CBN Act.

He stressed the aversion to uncertainty, demonstration of splashing the naira notes at events, dirtying and composing on it, pressing, dealing with as well as fake the country cash notes are maltreatment of the naira and are deserving of the law

He said when the examination concerning the matter was finished, the suspects would be charged to court.
