On Sunday, members of the Civilian Joint Task Force thwarted an assault on a community in Katsina State’s Batsari Local Government Area and killed two terrorists.
The task force team also detained nine motorcycles used in the attack and detained five additional terrorists.
According to sources who spoke with our correspondent, the terrorists invaded the town in no less than 10 motorcycles at around 4.30 p.m.
The task force unit engaged the terrorists during the invasion, and following a gunfire exchange, nine suspects were killed.
Five gang members are said to have been taken into custody by the squad during the operation.
When reached, SP Gambo Isah, the state police public relations officer, stated that the local DPO had not yet informed the command of the event.
