Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate, should not be associated with the “perceived failure” of the current administration, according to a group called Nigeria Intellectuals for Tinubu/Shettima
This was made in response to the Middle Belt Forum’s assertion that the situation in Nigeria has gotten worse since the President took office, according to the group’s coordinator for Lagos State, Mr. Emmanuel Omuwo.
Omuwo, however, argued that Tinubu was not a part of the current administration and shouldn’t be included in its management.
But he added that the President had not always had the advantage and that those who claimed Buhari had failed were not being honest with themselves.
Dr. Bitrus Porgu, President of the MBF claimed that the Buhari administration had failed to live up to the expectations of its manifesto.
Mr. Porgu criticizes the president himself and highlights how all sectors of the country have fallen short and also his naivety toward the status quo of the nation.
Omuwo reacted to Porgu’s take by citing Tinubu’s government in 2007 and explaining how Tinubu was not involved in Buhari’s administration but only played a role in the success of Buhari’s election to office back in 2015.
Also, he believes that Tinubu is the ideal candidate for the job of reforming Nigeria.
As he stated, “Tinubu was in the government in 2007. He is not part of this administration. All he had to do was work towards the success of Buhari’s campaign. It shows he is a game changer on his own. Tinubu has the solution. He has been preparing all his life for the presidency. However, you cannot use Buhari’s performance to judge the person of Bola Tinubu.”
