Cab hailing service, Uber said it would start charging riders in Nigeria an additional 3% booking fee on all trips from 1st January 2022.

Uber, on Thursday, said the additional fee is been charged to counter rising operational costs.

Riders are in for a tougher time in the New Year with rising transport costs and the threat of petroleum subsidy removal by the Federal Government.

Some riders have even started complaining on social media about price increases which they noticed during the holiday period. With the new official booking fee, it is not very clear how much that will impact passenger riding numbers on Uber in Nigeria
